Busy Birds!

This week we have been on a Spring walk and noticed that lots of things around us are changing as the Season is now Spring. One thing we all noticed is that we heard and saw a lot of busy birds!

Now the weather is getting sunnier and warmer the builds are working hard to build their nest to lay their eggs in.
Today for Wellie Wednesday we watched and listened to the busy birds. We talked about how they built their nests and what they made them from. We decided to help the birds and make some nests of our own!

Its hard working making a good strong nest!

Its hard to believe that the birds make nests and they don't even have hands to carry all of the sticks and straw. Everything is carried in their little beaks!

A Spectacular Sports Relief!

Well done Willow Class (And of course Willow Parents!) for taking part in our Sports Relief activities and raising £38 (Just in our class) for the Sports Relief charities.

You all looked fabulous in your red clothes and everyone had a turn at lots of different sporting activities that were set up outside. The children were fantastic at taking turns and trying new things! We had a great time!

Willow's Wonderful Weather Poems!

Today Willow class sang some weather poems and thought about how they made us feel and how they described what the weather was like.

We went on to make some great Acrostic Weather poems in our groups - have a look!
This is Phoebe's writing -

 Rain
Raindrop drip light and cold
Animals hide
inside we play
No park today!

This is Katie's writing -
 Snow
Softly falling from the sky
Noses are freezing cold
Owls are sitting in the trees
Wish it would snow some more

This is Joel's writing -

Sun
Sweet sun shining in the sky
Up high in the clouds
Now there's no rain, Yipee!

We think they are fantastic poems! Well done Willow!

We cooked some delicious pancakes!

As Shrove Tuesday was this week we have been learning all about why we celebrate pancake day and what 'Lent' is.
We have read the story of 'The Big Pancake' and we have enjoyed acting out the story to make a video.
Today we cooked some pancakes. We had to read the recipe carefully and we checked we had all of the ingredients and equipment.

Then we followed the instructions to make the runny batter.

We watched how the pancake changed from a liquid to a solid when it is cooked.

We chose what topping we liked - chocolate sauce, strawberry sauce or lemon juice.

Finally, the best bit, we tasted them!
We hope you had some tasty pancakes for pancake day!
Comment on here to tell us your favourite topping!
