Arctic Adventures!
To finish our topic on Winter we have been looking at the Arctic.
We learnt all about what it is like there and what animals live there.
Today we were given some Arctic character masks.

We had to make our own story that was set in the Arctic
We had great fun acting them out for our friends to see!
Treasure Hunters!
This week we have started to learn about Chinese New Year.
We learnt that Grandparents give children red envelopes with coins in for a present at New Years.
We played a brilliant game where we all had a lucky red envelopes and we had to go and hunt for lucky gold coins! We found loads!
Some of the coins had numbers on them - we put the numbers in order from 0 - 20!

Winter Tweety Treats!
As part of our topic on Winter we have been thinking about the birds. We know it is very difficult for them to find food in the winter so during Wellie Wednesday this week we made them a special 'Tweet treat'.
We found a fir cone and tied a raffia hook on it.
We smeared it with lard.
We rolled the cone in breadcrumbs - look a lovely treat for the birds!
We hooked out treats in the bushes, we'll have a look to see if they have been snacked on next time we go out!
I think there will be lots of full up happy birds around Greenfields :-)

Happy New Year!!!
A big big thank you for all of the lovely Christmas gifts and cards that many parents sent in - we were touched by your kindness! We hope you all had a lovely Christmas and break.
We are really looking forward to another fun packed term in Willow Class! This half term we are going to be learning about - Winter,Chinese new year, the weather and Noahs Ark.
The children are fantastic at coming into school and sorting their belongings now, we would ask that you further encourage this independence by allowing them to come into the cloakroom/ locker area alone. Staff will be on hand to assist with putting belongings away, changing books etc. This will be a great confidence booster for the children and will also reduce the bottleneck of incoming people when school begins. We will remind the children that this is what we expect and reward those who freely come in and independently organise themselves.
As always in Willow Class if you have any quick queries or issues you wish to discuss feel free to still come and grab a member of staff between 8.50 - 9.00am.

Willow's Santa Workshop.
Now its December Willow's Santa Workshop is a hive of activity!
We're all making sure we have written Santa a nice list of what we would like to have. (Mrs Barnard and Miss Quinn's lists were the longest!)
The Elves exercised the reindeer to make sure they are ready for the big day!
Only 21 days to go!!!
Make sure you have written and posted your letter to Santa!!!
The Elves are busy wrapping and packing the presents.
Santa was checking who was on the 'good' list!
