Eggselent Easter Fun!!!!

We have been learning all about Easter this week. We know its a celebration that takes place in the Spring.
We have read the Easter story all about how Jesus died and rose again on Easter Sunday.
We went to church and sang an easter song.
Today we finished making our clay Easter eggs! We had to print patterns on them and paint them carefully!
We think they look beautiful.

We have also been busy making Easter Nest cakes - we cant wait to gobble them up!

We hope everyone has a lovely Easter holiday.
See you back in school on Monday 15th April.

Spring is coming!

Today we looked at the seasons and talked about the new season that we are going into this week - Spring!
We looked at a video and pictures to show us what is going to happen in Spring. We talked about how Spring is different from Autumn and Winter.

We all made a 'Signs of Spring' poster and a Spring poem - Mrs Quinn-Lock was very proud with how are segmenting and spelling skills had improved!

Super hero den building.

We've had great fun out on the field this week building secret hideout dens for Super Hero's to live in!

We were very good at working together to get materials like sticks, pegs, string and tarpaulin and working out ways to make a good 'Hideout'!

Does anyone fancy moving in?

Is it a bird? is it a plane? No its...STICKMAN!!!

We read a brilliant story today all about a man made from sticks. We decided it would be good to make our own stick people. When we went out to Wellie Wednesday today we had a go at finding some good sticks for a body, arms and legs.

We used string to tie them together and tied on grass and leaves for their hair!

We had great fun playing with them and now we've taken them home to live in our gardens!

Brilliant Build a Bear!

We had a fantastic outing to Build a Bear Workshop in Telford on the last day before Half term!
We have been learning all about toys and what they are made from. It was great all helping to make our brand new class bear 'Carousel'!
First we chose the type of bear we wanted, then we put some stuffing in him using the special machine. When  there was enough stuffing inside him the lady stitched him together. Then we all had to give him a brush and blow dry to make him extra fluffy! Finally we chose some lovely clothes and shoes for him to wear and dressed him.
We think he looks fantastic!

Thank you all parent helpers for your support.
Thank you 'Build a Bear Workshop, Telford'.
