We're shaping up very well!

We have been working hard this week learning all about 2D shapes.

Today we made some excellent repeating pattern shape 'chef' hats that we can wear when we're working in the Little Red Hen Cafe.

Don't they look fabulous!
We also went on a shape hunt around school. Maybe you could have a shape hunt at home!

Little Red Hen.

This week, as it is almost Harvest time, we have been looking at the story of the Little Red Hen.

During Literacy time we looked at the story setting and the characters. We had a go at retelling the story with pictures and puppets. We had great fun watching the shows our friends did.

In Maths we have been working hard to improve our 2D shape knowledge.
Today we made some great pictures of Little Red Hen story characters using the 2D shapes.

Well done Willow Class you have been working very hard!
Here is the story of The Little Red Hen so you can share it at home.

Blog permission letter.

We have been waiting for permission letters to go out before we regularly updated our class blog.
Letters went out yesterday 16.09.13. The letter only needs to be returned if you DO NOT want your child to appear on our class blog.

Welcome Willow Class 2013-14

Welcome to all of the new children who completed their first day at 'Big School' today!
You were fantastic at listening and following instructions. We had to give soooooo many 'Dojo points' out.
Who do you think will have the most points and be our 'Star of the Week' on Friday???

Today you should have received a letter about WellieWedneday and your childs own Homework pack, which also has a letter inside regards what all the items are in the bag.

We have a trial Wellie Wednesday session as a whole class tomorrow.

Looking forward to another fun packed day with you Willow class :-)

Look at our natural art...

This week we have been making some new Elmer stories! We have had some fantastic ideas of new settings and new characters.
We have also looked at some work by Andy Goldsworthy. He is a famous artist who likes to use natural materials to form his art work.
We decided to make a picture on an Elmer Elephant using natural materials just like Goldsworthy did.
What do you think?

Can you think of some other animals that live in the Jungle that we can make a 'natural art' picture of?
